Our Day

Our day begins with Basic skills in the morning, where we either learn spellings, practise our mental maths, or revise our times tables. Sometimes we have these sessions with different teachers, depending on what level we are working at.

  • We have an assembly most days, and also have our Maths, Science, Literacy, Topic, RE and Music lessons in the morning, as well as Guided Reading.
  • In the afternoons we have, Art, Handwriting, Spanish and PE/Games lessons.

Reading

Everyday – Reading books need to be in school.

Maths

Home Learning

Homework will be given out weekly on a Friday  and must be handed in no later than the following Friday, however it’s a good idea to hand it in as soon as possible as it gives me time to mark it and give feedback if there were any problems.  Children will also have reading books to take home. Please try to read with your child as much as possible and record any comments in their reading record. Your child must bring their reading book into school every day. In addition to homework, your child will have spellings to learn each week, which will be given out on a Monday.

P.E.

Tuesday – PE lesson - PE kit needs to be in school (blue t-shirt and black shorts)

Thursday – Swimming lesson – please bring swimming kit to school (boys – swimming trunks and towel (swimming trunks to be above the knee); girls – swimming costume, swimming hat and towel).
