The Sports Premium Grant is additional funding from the Government to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. It is also for improving the health and wellbeing of primary pupils.
This funding presently equates to £8000 per school per year, plus an additional £5 per child. This year our school received £9190.00 in funding from the sports partnership.
Since September 2016 the following has been achieved:
KS1 - Multi Skills Club; Zumba
KS2 - Football/Rugby Club; KS2 Netball/Basketball Club
Healthy and Active Lifestyles:
Early morning sporting activities incorporated into Breakfast Club, which promotes healthy food options to start the day.
Healthy food growing activities – involving whole school community
KS1 & KS2 Cookery Clubs promoting healthy food choices
Water Polo Competition participation
Part time Sports Leader, who is able to deliver PE lessons, organise lunch time activities & before and after school clubs. For example, multi sports, football, netball tournaments.
Years 3 & 4 Swimming lessons subsidised to extend swimming lessons across two full classes.
